Online LGBTQ Therapy in Minnesota
Affirming, Specialized Mental Health Support
Stop being perfect for everyone else, and become perfectly you.
You want to start LGBTQ therapy, but that’s not as easy as it sounds. Maybe you live in Mankato or St. Cloud and you can’t drive all the way to the Twin Cities Metro for a therapy appointment. You might live somewhere in Greater Minnesota like Winona or Bemidji with fewer LGBTQ affirming counseling options. Or maybe you’re just more comfortable attending therapy from the privacy of your home.
Why Online LGBTQ Therapy?
Society dismisses you for being queer or trans. Don’t dismiss your own needs and feelings.
You’re used to doing all the things for everyone else:
Maybe you’re the go-to person at work or in your relationships. You’re always showing up for others but leaving yourself last on the list.
You're the empathic type who's super attuned to other people's feelings, but feels lost when it comes to recognizing your own feelings.
You tend to avoid conflict by keeping the peace, even when it’s draining.
You’re not alone. I’m here to support you.
Looking for a Queer Therapist in Minnesota?
Hi, I’m Dr. Jenna Brownfield (she/her)
Bi Licensed Psychologist in Minnesota
I love partnering with queer and trans adults (18+) to understand and celebrate their whole selves.
It’s all too common for LGBTQ+ folks to doubt ourselves or face mental health struggles. I believe in a future in which every queer and trans person is cherished and is thriving.
Together we can help you clearly sense that your identities and your needs are valuable. That’s why I honor what LGBTQ+ people know to be true: Queer and trans folks are powerful, resilient, and worthy. You deserve a therapist who gets that.

Yes, of course you can still come out as bi or queer. Just because your bisexuality/queerness seems less visible in your relationship doesn’t mean you have to be invisible.
Being bi/queer doesn’t hinge on who you’re in a relationship with. You don’t need a particular sexual or relationship history in order to be valid. You’re still valid even if you’ve never had a queer relationship.
If it’s important for you to come out and (re)claim your queerness, you deserve to do so. You deserve a therapist who affirms you; someone who won’t perpetuate bi erasure. I’m a bi+ therapist in Minneapolis and I’d be happy to support you.

Yes, I’m a licensed psychologist in Minnesota and have been writing gender-affirming surgery letters since 2013. I use a collaborative approach called the Companionship Model (linked here) and follow the WPATH Standards of Care 8th Version as guidelines in my approach to letter writing. I use a pay-what-you-can model for letters, ranging from $0-$250.
